The partnership between OMV and Pre Point, a brand of Czech energy utility Prazska Energetika, began in 2020 with the commissioning of the first Pre Point fast chargers at OMV stations. Today, a total of 185 charging points are available at 46 OMV sites nationwide. However, not all belong to Pre Point.

Both companies have now announced an expansion of their cooperation to accelerate charging infrastructure rollout. By 2030, 113 new fast-charging stations delivering between 300 and 400 kW are planned, providing a total of 168 CCS charging points. Plans include four charging hubs in Prague, each featuring six high-power chargers with outputs of up to 400 kW.

The primary focus is installing the 113 new chargers at 48 new and existing OMV fuel sites. In addition to OMV locations, the oil company and Prazska Energetika also intend to set up fast chargers at selected Billa supermarket branches. Further details have yet to be disclosed. However, the project still requires regulatory approval. OMV expects permission shortly. Following approval, the oil firm and the energy provider will “coordinate investments, site selection, and development planning” as part of the project.
