Belgium: EnergyVision to install 5,000 EV charging points for SNCB
EnergyVision has secured a major infrastructure contract to expand Belgium’s EV charging network significantly. The project will see at least 2,500 charging AC stations with a total of 5,000 charging points installed by 2032. The concession covers 103,666 parking spaces within the SNCB network, with between 49,726 and 73,496 deemed suitable for EV infrastructure deployment. Expansion beyond the initial 5,000 charging points remains possible, depending on future demand.
EnergyVision confirmed receiving the formal notification from SNCB, stating that its bid had been evaluated as the best offer. The company will now observe the mandatory standstill period before the final contract is executed.
This award is a strategic milestone for EnergyVision, which has set out to increase the number of EV charging points it operates in Belgium from 2,500 today to 10,000 in the medium term. The SNCB concession will contribute significantly to achieving that target, enhancing charging coverage at key commuter hubs nationwide and supporting Belgium’s electrification goals.
