Siemens to deliver 120 charging stations to Rome for EV sharing On

Siemens Smart Infrastructure has sealed another deal and will install electric vehicle charging in Rome. The new EV sharing service On ordered 120 AC charging stations to power their cars in the Italian capital. Siemens already installed the first 23 across the city centre with the remaining to follow within this year.

Eneco & Efteling equip themepark with 174 chargers

The largest theme park in the Netherlands, Efteling, has opened the most extensive charging park for electric cars in the Benelux countries (the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg) in collaboration with Eneco. After the current lockdown, up to 174 electric cars will be able to recharge in the car park at the same time.

VW bundles Elli and appoints Elke Temme as CEO

The Swiss charging infrastructure provider Green Motion is being bought by the Irish-American energy management company Eaton. The company’s management will remain in place. Green Motion has been developing hardware and software for charging electric vehicles since 2009.

Rivian to launch their own charging network in the USA

Rivian has presented plans for its own charging networks, in which the North American electric car startup is strongly inspired by Tesla’s Superchargers and Destination Chargers. Rivian is focusing on North America with the new network, and there is no mention of a similar project for Europe.

In an open letter to the EU Commission, ChargeUp Europe, an association of European charging infrastructure providers, has called for a new stand-alone regulation for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The association says this should be separate from the existing directive for alternative fuels (DAFI).

EVBox charge points to be used by Q-Park in the UK

UK: West Midlands to add over 100 AC charge points
