Leapmotor launches EV purchase grant in the UK
Leapmotor UK is taking its own initiative to help UK-based EV buyers save up to £3,750 on the purchase of one of their electric vehicles by launching its own self-funded EV grant. The new “grant” is officially effective from today (18th July 2025).
This initiative makes Leapmotor the first car manufacturer in the UK to offer such a grant since the government announced its own EV grant scheme, which won’t kick in for consumers until next month. Specifically, the £650 million Electric Car Grant (ECG) provides up to £3,750 off the purchase of eligible EVs under £37,000. It has been open for applications from 16 July, but the results are expected to take some time.
Leapmotor currently only offers two electric vehicle models in the UK: the Models T03 and C10. The B10 is an electric SUV that runs on an 800-volt system, featuring a range of up to 600 km. The entry-level variant runs on an electric drive with a peak power output of 132 kW, while more expensive trims can deliver up to 160 kW. Meanwhile, the C10 is a large D-segment SUV with a 69.9 kWh battery and 160 kW motor power, featuring a WLTP range of 263 miles.
The T03 is available from £15,995 OTR, while the C10 starts from £36,500 OTR. The Leap Grant, as Leaptmotor is calling its rebate, covers £1,500 for the T03 and £3,750 for the C10.
“Our mission is to help make the leap to electric cars easy for UK drivers,” explained Damien Dally, Managing Director, Leapmotor UK. “We’ve decided to act now because we want to give customers clarity, confidence, and immediate savings – and make the switch to electric a simple choice.”
