Tesla Diner: Supercharger, restaurant and drive-in theatre
Tesla sees its own diner as nothing less than the “restaurant of the future.” This probably refers to the 80 fast-charging bays available for Tesla electric cars and other brands. In addition to a drive-in (without fast charging, of course), the restaurant offers over 250 seats and is a “classic American restaurant.” It offers classics such as the “Tesla Burger” and a hot dog; various sandwiches (grilled cheese, tuna melt, and Diner Club); vegetarian options (such as hash brown bites); plus sweet snacks such as waffles, cinnamon rolls, and apple pie.
Orders can be placed either in the diner itself or via the touchscreen inside the vehicle. The Tesla Burger costs around $13.50, the breakfast tacos $11, and a portion of fries with ketchup is available for $4. Meals can be eaten either in the car or on the “Skypad,” the large terrace on the upper floor. From there, you can enjoy a view of the city or one of the two large screens – with 20-meter LED screens making up the drive-in cinema part of the Tesla Diner. They show either movies or other clips, with the current ‘cinema program’ accessible via the Tesla’s touchscreen.

On the one hand, the location is intended to become a kind of meeting place for fans of the brand, as merchandise will also be available there. On the other hand, it is simply the largest Supercharger station in Los Angeles. The charging stations on the west side of the building are covered with solar panels, which, according to Tesla, will help reduce the facility’s CO2 emissions by about 12 million kilograms of CO2 per year. However, the (planned) total emissions of the facility are not specified.
