Electra lowers DC charging price to 39 cents – temporarily
The promotional price applies to all charging sessions via the Electra app and runs until 30 September 2025, Electra announces. In early July, the French provider already reduced DC charging prices in Germany from €0.59/kWh to €0.49/kWh – when registered via the Electra app. The ad-hoc price for charging without registration remains €0.69/kWh. That means: without registration, you pay 69 cents per kilowatt hour at an Electra charger, but via the Electra app, you now only owe 39 cents – a significant difference.
In Italy, the charging price was lowered for July and August to €0.39/kWh when charging via the Electra app. “We saw how well our summer offer was received in Italy – now we want to offer drivers in the DACH region an attractive holiday deal,” says Paul Tonini, Country Manager of Electra Germany. “Summer holidays with an EV should be practical, reliable and affordable.”
So far, Electra has mainly been active in France and Belgium. In Germany, the company opened its first HPC site only this May – in Gräfelfing near Munich. A second location in Dortmund followed. The French rely on a unique site concept, whereby additional masts between hyperchargers not only illuminate the area at night but also show occupancy of charging points from a distance. The rollout is set to proceed rapidly, with “hundreds” of new charging parks planned across Germany in the coming years.
