Lucid plans its own Gravity subsidy in the USA
Following the announced end of the EV credit in the USA at the end of September, Lucid is introducing its own $7,500 incentive for buyers who aren’t able to take delivery by the time the $7,500 federal EV credit ends. However, the subsidy will only be available for customers who purchase the Lucid Gravity. The company answers the obvious question of the model choice as follows: “Why Lucid Gravity? Because you can have it all, and then some.”
Likely, the decision was made due to the model’s upcoming launch in November, while the Lucid Air sedan has been out for some years now. In terms of technical specifications, Lucid had specified at the models’ launch that the Gravity would offer up to 588 kW of power thanks to further development of the 900-volt electric drive with its two motors. According to the manufacturer, the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds. In the current announcement, Lucid Motors only mentions “an unparalleled driving experience with 828 horsepower” and an “EPA-rated range of up to 450 miles, as well as plug-and-charge access to the Tesla Supercharger network.”
“Qualified lessee’s place an order for a Lucid Gravity by September 30 and lease between October 1 and December 31 will be eligible to receive a $7,500 Lucid Advantage Credit. Existing qualifying customers are covered as well.“
Just yesterday, Lucid also made an interesting announcement, with plans to get more involved along the entire vehicle supply chain. At the same time, Lucid is massively ramping up production figures, increasing by 83 per cent in a year-on-year comparison from 2024. Lucid also just set a range record with the Air Grand Touring model, achieving over 1,200 km on a single charge, albeit with most of the distance being Alpine downhill tracks.
