Farizon unveils new taxi and combi variant of its all-electric SV large van
Specifically, Farizon has landed a 1,000-vehicle order for its all-electric SV taxi model in Hong Kong. Taxi operator Big Bee will use the model in the near future. However, a delivery date was not specified.
Designed for passenger comfort and convenience, the SV taxi features a 900mm power sliding side door, a hidden B-pillar, and a 408mm cabin step to facilitate rapid ingress and egress. Rear double doors open to a 1.78 m-wide aperture, offering 630 litres of luggage capacity, enough for six large 20-inch suitcases. The interior accommodates seven passengers across three rows, with a 1.34m cabin height, wide central aisle, USB Type-C charging ports, cupholders, and multifunction storage boxes.
The SV Combi is intended for fleets that require both passenger and cargo transport. Configurable with five or six seats, it benefits from an ultra-low 52 cm platform height and hidden B-pillar design. Cargo space ranges from 3.8m³ in the 5-metre L1 version to 5m³ in the 5.5-metre L2 variant.
Both variants leverage Farizon’s GXA-M platform with Cell-to-Pack (CTP-S) battery technology. By connecting cells directly to the battery pack, the system improves body rigidity by 20% compared to conventional module packaging. The SV taxi offers a range of up to 370km, the Combi up to 319km, with a 20%-80% recharge achievable in 30 minutes.
The company indicated that while these models are currently sold in China, it is assessing opportunities for international markets as the SV panel van expands globally. The Farizon SV is currently sold in the UK, but could become available elsewhere, as it was specifically designed to meet the needs of European fleets and incorporates several advanced technologies and innovations that, according to the company, represent a world first in the commercial vehicle market.
Farizon was founded in 2016. Its focus is on zero-emission commercial vehicles, and it offers vans, trucks and buses. The company is part of the Chinese Geely Group, which owns brands such as Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and Zeekr. Geely also holds a 50 per cent stake in Smart. The Chinese first presented the Farizon SV at the end of 2024.
