UK Jaecoo E5 pricing and specs revealed
The Jaecoo E5 is being billed as the battery-electric alternative to the ICE-powered JAECOO 5. Based on Chery’s T1X platform also used by Omoda and Exlantix cars, it’s billed as a ‘rugged outdoors’ alternative to the Omoda E5 – and this is reflected in its rather familiar specs. It features a 61.1kWh battery, 80kW DC charging and a WLTP range of 248 miles. The company estimates it can be charged from 30 to 80 per cent in 27 minutes with an 80 kW DC fast charger, or overnight using a standard 11kW home AC charger. Similar to the Jaecoo 5, it features a number of driver assistance features including Level 2 ‘autonomous’ driving, cruise control, and a number of safety systems.
There’s two main trim levels available – Pure and Luxury. The Pure trim starts from £27,505 OTR and features six-speaker audio, the Level 2 ADAS features, and six-way manually adjustable front seats. The Luxury trim, meanwhile, starts from £30,505 and includes a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, heated front seats, and an eight-speaker upgrade. Both trims feature vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability so that the battery can be used to power electronics and appliances. As standard, they also feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, a five-seat layout with 35 storage spaces and a 480-litre boot that can be expanded to 1,180 by folding the rear seats.

Deliveries are expected to begin from October onwards via OMODA & JAECOO UK dealerships, and all vehicles will be offered with a 7-year / 100,000 mile warranty and an extra 8 year/100, 000 mile warranty for the battery.
Victor Zhang, UK Country Director JAECOO UK, said: “The JAECOO E5 is an exciting new chapter for us in the UK – a compact electric SUV that carries the same confident design and adventurous spirit as our petrol models, but with the refinement and flexibility that comes from zero-emission driving. Following the success of our sister-brand’s OMODA E5, this new model extends that momentum, bringing the same flexibility and refinement to a more rugged, outdoors-focused SUV.”
