Q-Park Netherlands adopts Greenflux backend

Parking operator Q-Park Netherlands is changing the backend provider for its charging stations. As part of the newly concluded partnership with Dutch charging infrastructure software specialist Greenflux, 1,700 Q-Park charging points were migrated from the Shell Recharge to the Greenflux backend.

According to Greenflux, which belongs to the German company DKV, Q-Park Netherlands chose the Greenflux solution “due to its advanced multi-level smart-charging solutions and various Charge Point Management System (CPMS) options.” The solution is intended to help Q-Park manage and optimise its charging points.

The migration concerns 1,700 charging points located in Q-Park-managed parking facilities, which were previously operated via the Shell Recharge backend. In practice, this was more complex than it initially sounds: “As it was a complex migration, Q-Park and GreenFlux would like to thank Shell Recharge for its commitment and support to make this back-end migration a success,” Greenflux said.

The deal between Q-Park and Greenflux is described in the announcement as “rational in many ways.” Both companies were founded in the Netherlands and primarily focus on the European market, with activities in key markets such as Germany, France, Belgium, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. “Both companies value and offer high-quality, smart eMobility solutions with a strong sustainability commitment,” Greenflux added.

“We are thrilled to see that the Q-Park partnership has been finalised,” said Suthalan Gnanes, CEO of Greenflux. “Q-Park is a well-known parking and mobility brand and has an outstanding reputation. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to drive the future of commercial parking as we now serve the top commercial parking operators in Europe.”

“EV charging is increasingly important for Q-Park as our customers expect to be able to charge while parking. The collaboration with GreenFlux provides us with more flexibility and control, allowing us to facilitate our growth ambitions,” explained Michiel Tenge, Managing Director of Q-Park Netherlands. “EV charging is part of our proposition to make cities liveable and accessible.”
