Emanuele Cappellano to head up Stellantis Europe
Previously, Cappellano was Head of South America at Stellantis and also led Stellantis Pro One – the company’s commercial vehicle division. Now, he is set to succeed Jean-Philippe Imparato as Head of Enlarged Europe & European Brands. Cappellano will continue to hold responsibility for Stellantis Pro One. Imparato, meanwhile, will become the full-time CEO of Stellantis luxury brand Maserati and lead Stellantis & You – while reporting to Capellano.
Herlander Zola, currently Head of Commercial Operations Light Commercial Vehicles in Brazil and South America, is appointed Head of South America, succeeding Cappellano, the new Head of Europe. Samir Cherfan joins the SLT and retains his responsibilities as Head of Middle East & Africa and Micromobility. And Grégoire Olivier, currently Head of China Strategy, has been appointed Head of the China and Asia-Pacific region and member of the SLT.
New to the management team is Francesco Ciancia, who will return to Stellantis on November 1 as Global Head of Manufacturing at Mercedes-Benz, where he previously served as Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans Operations in Stuttgart and successfully initiated the transformation of the production network. His predecessor, Arnaud Deboeuf, will leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
Ralph Gilles, who has been the group’s head of design since Stellantis was formed in 2021, will also be appointed to the Stellantis Leadership Team (SLT). Until now, design has been missing from the SLT.
“With these new appointments we are promoting exceptional talent from inside and out to leadership roles as we prepare our business for future success. We are also sharpening our regional focus by allocating specific responsibility for our Asia-Pacific and Middle East & Africa organizations at the SLT level,” said CEO Antonio Filosa, who established the SLT when he took office in June.
