Farizon launches van charging partnership with ChargePoint and Hypervolt

Farizon, a Geely brand, will team up with ChargePoint and Hypervolt to offer recommended charging for owners of its SV electric van. ChargePoint will become Farizon's preferred supplier for commercial charging, while Hypervolt is now the recommended home charging provider.

By spanning both the commercial and retail customer base, Farizon is hoping to encourage adoption of its SV electric van. On the commercial side: ChargePoint will provide AC chargers from its ChargePoint 6000 series, which provide up to 22kW of output; as well as its 50kW HYC50 DC wall box charger for fast charging. Farizon says these solutions will “enable operators of SV fleets to charge their vans overnight and to fast charge between shifts”. Additionally, Farizon SV fleet customers will also have access to ChargePoint’s integrated fleet software platform to monitor vehicle status and charging in real time.

Then, there’s the home charging offering. Hypervolt is a UK-based provider of residential EV charging solutions and will primarily offer Farizon SV customers its 7.4kW home charger. This tethered charger is available in three colours and three cable lengths, including a 10m-long option. Hypervolt offers smart tariff integrations for its home charger via the Hypervolt app, thanks to partnerships with energy firms such as OVO, Octopus, EDF, ev.energy, SO Energy, and others.

It’s worth mentioning that Farizon SV owners will not be expected to use chargers from ChargePoint or Hypervolt; these brands will merely become “preferred providers” or “recommended suppliers” for Farizon SV customers.

Calum James, General Manager of Farizon UK, said: “Businesses large and small who are switching to electric vans for the first time often need support and advice on charging. We selected Chargepoint and Hypervolt having assessed a number of potential options, and I’m pleased we have partnered with proven industry leaders who share our sustainability vision, provide robust solutions and deliver a professional service.”

Farizon is a Geely subsidiary which began shipping its SV van in Europe earlier this year. Price tags range from £45,000 (€37,300) for the smallest van with the 83 kWh battery to £56,000 (€46,405) for the largest model with the same battery.

According to Farizon, the electric van has a combined WLTP range of up to 247 miles (about 400 km) and can charge with up to 140 kW from 20 to 80 per cent in 36 minutes. The largest variant with the 106 kWh NMC battery can charge with up to 120 kW and takes four minutes longer to reach the same SoC. All variants have an 11 kW AC onboard charger. The front motor delivers 170 kW peak and maximum torque of 336 Nm. The van has a top speed of 83 mph (about 135 kph), while it can sprint from zero to 62 mph (about 100 kph) in 12 seconds.
