Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has announced that the 2026 Toyota bZ is now available to order. The new model brings improvements in range, power, and connectivity, while introducing enhanced charging options through the adoption of Tesla’s NACS.

Priced from $34,900, the 2026 Toyota bZ is one of the most affordable battery-electric SUVs in the US. It will be offered in two grades: XLE and Limited.

The XLE FWD model is powered by a 57.7 kWh battery, offering up to 236 miles of range. The XLE FWD Plus variant increases capacity to 74.7 kWh for a maximum of 314 miles. The Limited grade, priced from $43,300, comes with premium equipment. That includes a panoramic roof and a digital rear-view mirror. More importantly, an all-wheel drive option is available for an additional $2,000. Thanks to the use of new silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors, AWD versions now deliver up to 388 hp – a 50 per cent increase over the 2025 bZ4X.

All versions can charge with up to 150 kW DC and have an 11 kW onboard charger for AC applications.

The 2026 bZ will also feature an integrated NACS port, allowing access to more than 25,000 additional fast-chargers across North America. These will be visible via the Toyota app. All 2026 Toyota BEVs will include Plug & Charge capability, enabling drivers to begin charging automatically after a one-time app enrolment.

“The BEV ecosystem is different than that of internal combustion engines and hybrids, but the goal remains the same: to provide a high-quality Toyota experience our customers can count on for the long haul,” said Thibaut de Barros Conti, vice president of Business Development at Toyota Motor North America. “We’re delighted to be able to provide our battery electric vehicle customers meaningful enhancements throughout their vehicle ownership experience.”

From November, owners of 2023–2025 Toyota bZ4X models will be eligible for a complimentary NACS charging adapter available through Toyota dealers. These adapters will provide backward compatibility with the new charging interface and are covered under the brand’s warranty.

Subaru of America has also announced that the 2026 Subaru Solterra is equipped with the NACS port, allowing direct use of Tesla Superchargers. Through SubaruConnect, drivers can locate available stations, manage payments and initiate charging automatically using Plug & Charge.

Owners of 2023–2025 Solterra models will soon be able to purchase a Genuine Subaru Accessory Fast Charging Adapter (NACS) from Subaru retailers, enabling access to the same network. Subaru advises customers to use official adapters to ensure safe and efficient charging performance.
