EV sales show a slow February in China

Around 97,000 electric cars and plug-in hybrids were sold in China in February, according to figures from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), 675 per cent more than in the same month last year but 37.9 per cent fewer than in January 2021. However, some manufacturers were also up in February.

700th Supercharger location opens in China

Tesla opened its 700th Supercharger location in China a few days ago. This speaks for a rapid expansion of the network in China, as the 500th Supercharger charging park was connected to the grid just two months ago. Within 40 days, Tesla is said to have expanded the Supercharger network by 30 per cent.

ICEing is still a thing – at least in the world of trolls and this one probably wanted to be particularly “thoughtful”. In what the driver probably thought was a humorous moment, the pick-up truck that blocked a Tesla Supercharger bore a sign saying “I identify as a Prius”.

Tesla Supercharger site in Germany upgraded

In Germany, Tesla has expanded the Supercharger site at Westerwaldpark near Oberhonnefeld by 20 charging stations of the latest generation V3. This makes the charging park with 20 V3 and 20 V2 Superchargers the largest in central Europe.

Tesla plans V4-Supercharger with up to 350 kW

Tesla may launch a fourth-generation Supercharger, which should allow charging capacities of around 350 kW, as Tesla’s automotive boss Jerome Guillen revealed. The first models to achieve such charging capacities have apparently already been determined.

Biggest EU Tesla charge park yet planned in Germany

Tesla’s largest fast-charging park in the EU will soon go online on a plot of land owned by bakery Roland Schüren at the Hilden motorway junction (A3/A46) near Düsseldorf. Fastned is also planning to set up fast-charging points for other electric cars right there.

Tesla builds up charging and service networks in China

Tesla intends to increase the number of its service centres in China from 29 to 63 and the number of its fast-charging stations by 39 per cent to 362 units.  The Californian company has also increased the charging capacity of Model 3 with the latest software update.

Tesla gives European V2 Superchargers 150 kW

Tesla is now increasing the charging capacity of its fast-charging network in Europe from 120 kW to 150 kW. The upgrade will benefit all second-generation superchargers installed at around 500 European supercharger sites, with a few exceptions.

If you order a new Model S or Model X from Tesla, you can now charge it again for free at the manufacturer’s Superchargers. With this step, Tesla apparently aims to boost the recently sluggish sales of its two higher-priced and higher-margin models.
