Smart #5 goes on sale in the UK
Coming in at 4.7 metres in length, Smart’s largest ever model targets the likes of the Skoda Enyaq and the Tesla Model Y. Just as in Germany and other European countries, there are a total of six specifications available in the UK, including Pro, Pro+, Premium, Pulse, Summit Edition and Brabus, all of which utilise the same powertrain.
The entry-level Smart #5 Pro starts at £39,800 and comes with a 76kWh battery and a 249 kW electric motor. Smart states it can travel around 288 miles on a single charge, and features a panoramic glass sunroof and 19-inch alloys. The other trims, from the Pro+ upwards, all feature a 100kWh battery with a 357bhp electric motor, as well as 800 volt architecture.
Smart says this enables a range of up to 366 miles between trips as well as compatibility with rapid charging. Beyond that, there are a few more quality of life and performance tweaks: an all-wheel drive dual motor setup for the Pulse trim, or an improved 100kWh dual motor powertrain for the flagship ‘Brabus’ trim.
Customers can now configure and order their vehicle online via the Smart website, or visit one of more than 100 Smart retail partners across the country for in-person consultation. There’s no word yet on whether the Smart #5 will become eligible for the UK government’s Electric Car Grant, but here’s our full pricing breakdown as things stand:
| Trim | Starting price |
|---|---|

The Smart #5 first became available in China in October 2024, with European version specs only debuting in March 2025. In April, the company began its European rollout with the launch of the Smart #5 in Germany.
