Zaptec introduces trolls ICE fans with private petrol pump
Norwegian charging infrastructure manufacturer Zaptec took to LinkedIn with a rather amusing video: “At Zaptec, we are committed to meeting our customers’ needs. When ‘PetrolDaddy_69’ wrote that electric cars are for vegans and batteries are for toys, we were a little hurt, to be honest. But dear ‘PetrolDaddy_69’, we listened to you. And developed ‘Gaztec Home Petrol Pump’ – the petrol pump for your home.”
The company then posted a video showing a jealous diesel driver who also wants his very own infrastructure. Zaptec even set up a page on their website dedicated to the petrol pump: two models are available, with either the Gaztec Go or Gaztec Pro models, retailing at €169,000 and €198,000, respectively. The difference between the two is also humorously presented, as the company describes the Pro model: “A premium, twin-nozzle petrol pump for YOUR home, with a hotdog module, slushie module, and magazine stand!”
There is also a petrol-scented Gaztec candle, as well as a ‘Make home petrol pumps great (again?)’ hat, alongside a few other tongue-in-cheek items available for sale. Should a user actually attempt to order one of the pumps, a message is displayed explaining that the whole thing is a hoax, after all: “Come on, did you really think we’d sell home petrol pumps? EV charging is way more convenient.”
