Verge presents updated electric motorcycle at EICMA
The Verge TS Pro is the electric motorcycle manufacturer’s most popular model. The further development is evidence of “strong design and engineering expertise,” as Verge confidently states. The innovations are intended to take the motorcycle’s technical features and user experience to an entirely new level.”
The TS Pro’s most distinctive feature, the electric motor, also contributes to this. The original version, which went into series production in 2023, already uses a rim motor developed by Finnish start-up (and now Verge subsidiary) Donut Labs. As this wheel hub motor is integrated into the rim, the rear tyre appears empty, which contributes greatly to the motorcycle’s futuristic look.
The new and patented Donut Motor 2.0 offers the same power output of 102 kW and, as before, up to 1,000 Nm of torque, but the second generation is 50 per cent lighter. This not only reduces the total weight of the electric motorcycle to 230 kilograms (previously 245 kg), but also the unsprung masses at the rear. This is said to ‘significantly’ improve efficiency, stability and control. Verge does not specify exactly what the further developments to the motor consist of. Donut Lab made headlines in January when it unveiled a car version of the Donut motor with 630 kW of power and 4,300 Nm of torque in a size that is said to fit into a 21-inch tyre.
According to The Verge, the battery has also been improved and now has an energy content of 20.2 kWh, which should enable a range of up to 350 kilometres and fast charging times of less than 35 minutes – although the latter two figures correspond to the specifications prior to the update. In practice, the TS Pro should be able to recharge enough power for 100 kilometres in 15 minutes. In Europe, this is possible at CCS charging stations, while the North American version has a NACS connection.
Based on our own test drives and customer feedback, the chassis has also been retuned. The seat angle has also been adjusted to provide a more comfortable and ergonomic seating position. Further updates concern the cockpit. “The redesigned Verge TS Pro features larger and clearer displays that keep the rider informed about the status, surroundings and warning messages of the motorcycle. The new user interface is even more intuitive and offers an expanded selection of riding data,” according to the company. Connectivity has also been improved, for example, via an integrated Bluetooth connection.
The new version of the Verge TS Pro is now available on the Verge website and in Verge Motorcycles showrooms in Germany and the United Kingdom. In the United States, the motorcycle is available for pre-order only. Test rides will be possible in European showrooms and in the United States from early 2026. However, the price is high: in Germany, the machine can be configured from €36,581. The global/english version of the site shows a friendlier price of €29,900, however, this does not include taxes and fees.
