LiveWire One launches in Europe
The first all-electric motorcycle of Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire brand can now be pre-ordered in Europe. Just in time for the motorcycle season. For a €100 down-payment, customers in Germany, France, the Netherlands and the UK can reserve a LiveWire One and “secure priority delivery beginning later in April”.

Roam opens large-scale electric motorcycle plant in Kenya
Swedish-Kenyan company Roam will produce over 50,000 electric motorbikes a year at a new factory in Kenya’s capital Nairobi. The company considers the 10,000 sqm facility, Roam Park, Africa’s largest such plant. It also forms Roam’s new HQ and battery lab.

Energica to expand HQ in Italy
The Italian electric motorbike manufacturer Energica, part of the US group Ideanomics, has begun expanding its headquarters in Modena. The expansion by another 1,150 square metres of space will serve research and development, prototype testing and the Energica Inside business unit.

London introduces scrappage scheme
The City of London has launched a £110 million scrappage scheme for combustion engine vehicles. This follows the announced extension of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to the whole of London from 29 August 2023. The scrappage subsidies target economically vulnerable groups.

Italy to invest €650 million per year to lower emissions
