Malta launches clean vehicle scheme

The Maltese government is providing 3.5 million euros in subsidies for the changeover to cleaner vehicles. Grants are to be given to anyone who de-registers and scraps their old combustion engine, while grants of between 400 and 6,000 euros are available for electric vehicles ranging from pedelecs to cargo bikes and cars.

Kawasaki electric motorbike named EV Endeavor

After Kawasaki officially confirmed the development of an electric motorcycle last year, the Japanese manufacturer has now released a series of videos with further details. The electric bike is to be called the Kawasaki EV Endeavor.

Newron Motors presents extravagant e-motorbike

UK extends but lowers EV subsidies

The British government has extended its subsidies for electric cars but is again reducing the subsidy amount. For other electric vehicles, such as vans, trucks, taxis or motorcycles, the subsidy has been extended but the subsidy rates remain the same.

Niu has just presented the RQi-GT electric motorcycle and the TQi-GT three-wheeled electric scooter at the CES. The Chinese manufacturer is planning to put the two new models into series production in the second half of 2020.

Several US American states have launched initiatives to support the electrification of their traffic. Massachusetts and Delaware extended their subsidy programmes, while Ohio is angling to introduce one. California extended traffic benefits to include those driving used EVs.

US announces retroactive subsidy extension

A new US American spending bill includes the retroactive extension of tax credits for home EV charger installation, electric motorcycles, and fuel-cell vehicles. Previously, the credits had been extended through 2017, and have now been extended to 2020.

Curtiss opens the books for Zeus

The U.S. American company Curtiss Motorcycles is now accepting advance orders for its Zeus electric motorcycle, which was presented as a prototype almost a year ago. The electric bike offers 140 kW of power, a maximum range of 450 km and costs 60,000 dollars. Production is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2020.

The U.S. manufacturer Zero Motorcycles has now presented the SR/F, its fastest electric motorcycle to date. The 82 kW strong electric bike has a torque of 190 Nm, a top speed of 200 kph, and a range of 322 kilometres that can be replenished fast, claims the company.

Harley Davidson airs technical details of the LiveWire

Harley-Davidson has published technical details about its first electric motorcycle, the LiveWire. The Harvey LEV will be launched in autumn this year and can be pre-ordered from U.S. dealers starting immediately. First prototypes can also be seen at the CES in Las Vegas.
