Hyptec SSR sets another Guinness World Record
The record-setting drift was performed by driver Ye Zhicheng, who had to maintain a drift angle of at least 30° throughout the attempt, while exceeding a speed of 207 kph for a minimum of 50 metres. He ended up significantly beating those metrics, resulting in a verified mark of 213.523 kph. GAC announces the feat on social media.
GAC Aion further wrote that the feat was recorded during a dedicated test session and will be featured in an upcoming promotional short film tied to China’s 15th National Games.
The Hyptec SSR was first introduced in 2022 under the Hyper subsidiary brand. This was then rebranded into the current iteration, Hyptec, so the car needed a new name. In China, it is available in three versions, including Standard, Ultimate, and Track. These start at prices of 1.286 million yuan (approximately 156,000 USD), 1.386 million yuan (approximately 168,000 euros), and 1.686 million yuan (approximately 204,000 euros), respectively.
