Milence switches charging rates to country-specific kWh prices

Electric truck charging network operator Milence announced the introduction of a market-oriented pricing model at Solutrans. Country-specific kilowatt-hour prices will apply from 1 January 2026. Until now, Milence has charged a uniform rate for charging electricity in all Eurozone countries.

The joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton and the Volvo Group currently operates 30 public electric truck charging stations in eight European countries, including ten in France alone. Until now, Milence customers in eurozone countries have paid a price of 0.399 euros/kWh (net) at fast chargers. Different prices have already been applied in the United Kingdom (£0.399 net) and other eurozone countries. But this is now changing.

“From the start of operations, Milence has offered competitive pan-European pricing to accelerate early market adoption,” Milence said. “A logical next step is now the introduction of market-based, country-specific pricing,” Milence said. This change would reflect differences in local energy costs, taxes and grid fees. It is also in line with EU policy, ‘industry best practices’ and would ensure fair, transparent and sustainable pricing in all markets.

The following tariffs (excluding VAT) will apply from 1 January 2026:

CountryPrice
Netherlands0.399 €/kWh
Germany0.399 €/kWh
Belgium0.379 €/kWh
Italy0.399 €/kWh
Spain0.339 €/kWh
France0.339 €/kWh
UK0.399 £/kWh
Denmark2.799 DKK/kWh
Schweden3,699 SEK/kWh

In some countries, such as Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, the price will remain unchanged at 0.399 euros/kWh. There will also be no change in the United Kingdom. In Belgium, however, there will be a slight decrease. From the new year onwards, Milence customers there will pay 0.379 euros/kWh. Charging electric trucks will be particularly cheap in Spain and France, however. There, the kilowatt-hour price will even drop to €0.339. However, the new prices do not apply to the tariffs of a contractual partner. Prices may vary depending on the eMSP selected.

“Electrifying Europe’s road freight requires more than individual charging sites, it demands availability across key transport corridors, reliability and economic viability. With our expanding network in France, where we already cover significant routes, and across other key European markets, Milence empowers fleets to transition to electric transport with confidence. Our competitive pricing model reflects real market conditions, supports early movers, and creates the right enabling environment,” says Roel Vissers, Chief Commercial Officer at Milence.
