Ford Trucks unveils its first production-ready electric truck, the F-Line E
Ford Trucks is presenting two new products at Solutrans in Lyon (18–22 November): the next generation of the Ford F-Max as a classic diesel and the F-Line E, Ford’s first foray into the electric truck sector. The electric truck will be on display at the trade fair in a 6×2 axle configuration with a gross vehicle weight of 26 tonnes and a refrigerated body from Lamberet. Test drives will also be available. The model is the brainchild of Ford Otosan from Turkey, a joint venture between Ford Motor and the Turkish Koç Holding that has been in existence for decades. The F-Line E will also roll off the production line at its plants. Alongside the diesel-powered F-Line models.
Burak Hoşgören, responsible for international markets at Ford Trucks, told electrive that the model will be launched next year throughout Western Europe. Emrah Duman, Vice President of Ford Trucks, also attended Solutrans alongside Hoşgören. “We are delighted to be represented at Solutrans – one of Europe’s leading trade fairs – together with Ford Pro,” said Duman. “Our new product generation combines durability, technology and economy, thereby strengthening our position in Europe. At the same time, we are leading the way towards a more sustainable future for heavy-duty transport.”
Ford Trucks was the only major manufacturer in Europe that did not yet have an electric truck in its portfolio. With the F-Line E, the Turkish company now wants to catch up in this area. Although the new electric truck was already on display at IAA Transportation 2024, no performance data was available at that time. The following is now known about the technology of the electric truck: the 6×2 model houses an electric drive with 310 kW continuous power and 390 kW peak power. The manufacturer specifies the torque as 1,370 Nm and 2,470 Nm at peak.
ZF was named as the supplier of the electric drive last year. The NMC-based (nickel-manganese-cobalt) battery consists of four 98 kWh packs, giving a total gross energy content of 392 kWh. Of this, 314 kWh is usable. The batteries are housed on the side rails of the vehicle. Ford Trucks specifies a range of up to 300 kilometres and a wheelbase of 4.75 metres. Regarding the drive system, the manufacturer also specifies that the F-Line E has a three-speed automatic transmission on board.

The F-Line E will also be available with four wheels instead of six, so in a 4×2 axle configuration with a gross vehicle weight of 19 tonnes. In this case, Ford Otosan will install a different motor and fewer battery cells. This variant will have a continuous output of 235 kW and a peak output of 290 kW, as well as a gross battery capacity of 294 kWh (of which 235 kWh is usable). This reduces the range to 250 kilometres. The 6×3 version of the F-Line E has a DC charging capacity of up to 285 kW, while the 4×2 has a capacity of up to 213 kW, which should limit the charging time to ‘less than 45 minutes’ to fill the battery from 20 to 80 per cent.
Ford Trucks also specifies a permissible axle load of eight tonnes (front) and 11.5 tonnes (rear) for the model on display. While the front axle has mechanical suspension, the truck features air suspension at the rear. The tyres are 22.5-inch with aluminium rims.
F-Trucks Deutschland GmbH is the general importer of all Ford trucks in Germany. The company was founded in 2021 and is part of the Stegmaier Group, based in Kirchberg an der Jagst in north-eastern Baden-Württemberg.
