Munich: MAN delivers first commercial vehicle chargers to Allianz Arena
The two units are Milence-branded, 400 kW DC Hyperchargers from Alpitronic. They mark the starting point for a larger charging hub that will be expanded in several stages. Once fully built out, the site is designed to enable up to 500 electric trucks and buses per day to charge at the Allianz Arena bus park.
The handover took place during a stop on the annual tour of the MAN Christmas truck, which is electrically powered for the first time this year. Former Bayern Munich striker Claudio Pizarro accepted the charging stations on behalf of FC Bayern Munich.
According to MAN, the location offers favourable conditions for such a facility, including a powerful grid connection, access to electricity from renewable sources and its position near the Munich North motorway interchange. On non-match days, the site also provides sufficient space for commercial vehicle operations. The charging park will support long-distance freight transport and will also serve FC Bayern Munich’s first all-electric team coach.
The symbolic delivery was carried out by the MAN Christmas truck, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. For the first time, the vehicle is fully electric and based on an MAN eTGX with six battery packs and a range of up to 570 kilometres. MAN board members and employees will drive the electric Christmas truck to kindergartens, schools, social institutions and MAN sites across Germany until the end of December.
