Ionity enables charging at Fastned, Electra and Atlante
As early as this spring, the charging alliance ChargeLeague (formerly Spark Alliance) set its founding goal: customers of one provider should be able to charge at all others without switching apps. In July, however, the first stage of integration was launched. Since then, the four founding members—Electra, Ionity, Fastned, and Atlante—have not only displayed their own charging points in their apps but also those of the other charge point operators.
Just a few weeks ago, ChargeLeague hosted the industry summit WATT 2025. For electric vehicle drivers, the most important announcement was likely this: in the coming months, the four charge point operators (CPOs) plan to extend the use of their charging subscriptions across the entire ChargeLeague network. Electra was the first of the four fast-charging providers to enable access to the charging stations of the other ChargeLeague members without switching apps. Now, Ionity has become the second CPO to complete the announced integration of the other three charge point operators into its own charging service.
The fast-charging joint venture continues to offer its previously introduced tariffs for using its own charging points: “Ionity Go” with no base fee, “Ionity Motion” for £5.99 per month, and “Ionity Power” for £11.99 per month. If paid annually, the base fees for the two paid tariffs are significantly reduced. Depending on the tariff, different kilowatt-hour prices apply at Ionity charging stations.
Prices also vary when charging at the stations of the other three ChargeLeague members via the Ionity app and charging card, depending on the tariff, country, and operator. The published price list applies exclusively to charging at high-power charging stations with at least 150 kW. For DC chargers with lower power and AC charging points, different prices apply, which are displayed location-specific in the app. In France, an additional distinction is made: Ionity differentiates between locations on motorways and those away from major roads (on-/off-highway) for Atlante and Electra.
For example, in Germany, the prices are structured as follows: without a subscription, Ionity charges 83 pence per kilowatt-hour for charging at Fastned stations. With the “Ionity Motion” tariff, the price drops to 75 pence, and with “Ionity Power,” it falls to 65 pence. At Electra charging points, Ionity charges 70 pence, 49 pence, or 42 pence per kilowatt-hour, depending on the selected tariff. Atlante, however, does not yet operate any charging parks in Germany.
The pricing structure at Electra is more straightforward. With the “Electra+” tariff for £9.99 per month, charging at the charging points of Ionity, Fastned, and Atlante in Germany costs a uniform 64 pence. While prices vary by country, within a single country, identical rates apply at the charging points of the other ChargeLeague members. Without a subscription, the Electra app charges the respective ad-hoc price of the charge point operator. It remains unclear when Fastned and Atlante will follow suit and what their pricing structures will look like.
