USA: Windrose offers free charging on the Greenlane Network

Windrose Technology has introduced a new incentive to support the market uptake of battery-electric heavy-duty trucks. For every qualifying purchase of its Global E700 Class 8 electric truck, customers will receive three months of unlimited charging on the network operated by Greenlane Infrastructure.

The programme provides immediate access to Greenlane’s high-power public charging sites, including its Gold-level subscription service with advanced reservation tools, fleet management features and 24/7 operational support. Charging credits can be used along key long-distance freight corridors, such as Interstate 10 connecting Southern California with Arizona and Interstate 15 linking California and Nevada, routes that are representative of high-utilisation long-haul trucking in North America.

The offer is aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership gap between electric and diesel trucks and is available to eligible customers in the United States. Windrose has also secured preferred charging rates for customers beyond the complimentary period, supporting continued use of Greenlane’s network under defined commercial conditions. The company positions the bundled charging offer as a turnkey entry point for fleets evaluating electric long-haul trucks, combining vehicle supply with immediate access to public high-power charging infrastructure.

“We’re committed to making electric trucking accessible and cost-competitive for fleets,” said Wen Han, founder and CEO of Windrose Technology. “But vehicles are only half the equation. Charging infrastructure for electric trucks is just like a high-speed cellular network is to the smartphone. Accessible high-power, high-quality, and strategically-placed charging infrastructure by Greenlane is what enables fleets to deploy at scale and at lower costs.”

“Total cost of entry is the biggest decision factor for fleet operators when they are thinking about electrification,” said Patrick Macdonald-King, chief executive officer of Greenlane. “Windrose’s offer to integrate charging infrastructure directly into the vehicle purchase eliminates some of the guesswork and upfront costs that have historically slowed adoption.”

The charging offer builds on previous joint testing by the two companies. In long-haul pilot runs, the electric truck completed routes of several hundred miles on a single charge, validating the operational readiness of both the vehicle and the public charging network for commercial freight use, the company states.

In August 2025, Windrose deployed an R700 Class 8 electric semi from the Colton location with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 74,420lb – a near maximum payload for the approx. 300 mile journey. After being charged at a peak rate of 772kW with a dual-plug charging tower, the truck was reportedly able to make it to both Buckeye, Arizona and Las Vegas on a single charge.
