Autonomous shuttles: Holon strengthens its leadership team
Three years ago, Holon unveiled its first vehicle at CES in Las Vegas. The battery-electric Holon Urban, designed by Pininfarina (initially called the Holon Mover), is built to accommodate up to 15 passengers. The autonomous shuttle operates at Level 4 autonomy using Mobileye technology, with a top speed of 60 km/h and a range of approximately 290 kilometres.
Since then, much has changed: in November 2025, Holon received approval for the Holon Urban from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. This authorisation permits Holon to test the shuttle nationwide in autonomous driving mode with a safety driver, initially as part of the ALIKE project in Hamburg.
However, Benteler and its subsidiary Holon are thinking much bigger and plan to begin manufacturing the Holon Urban at a new plant in Florida from the second half of 2027. A major US customer has already been secured: Uber rival Lyft plans to integrate Holon’s battery-electric shuttles into its app. Additionally, the Benteler Group has announced the acquisition of Ioki, a specialist in platform and routing technology for on-demand and public transport integration. Benteler expects synergies with Holon’s autonomous battery-electric shuttles.
Naturally, such ambitious initiatives require strong leadership—and Holon is rising to the challenge by expanding its leadership team. Martin Lischka will oversee customer-centric alignment and targeted brand development for global sales activities in key markets, including Europe, the USA, and the Gulf states. Meanwhile, Jonas Seyfferth will focus on shaping Holon’s strategic direction. This move aims to strengthen critical areas to support Holon’s international market entry in Europe, the USA, and the Gulf states, as well as its continued growth.
“Autonomous mobility will not enter the market through technology alone,” said Sven Herzig, CSO at HOLON. “Consistent customer focus and the ability to implement an integrated mobility solution in a scalable way, together with our partners, are crucial. This is exactly the experience and expertise that Martin Lischka and Jonas Seyfferth bring.”
Martin Lischka was most recently CEO of Arthur Holding, a Munich-based provider of zero-emission mobility solutions. He views Holon’s integrated offering, comprising autonomous vehicles, software, financing, and services, including fleet operations, as a ‘unique selling point in addressing the market’s mobility needs.’
Jonas Seyfferth previously led growth and transformation projects for companies in the automotive and mobility sector at Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consulting arm. He stated: “Holon is at a crucial stage. Our task is to translate clear goals into defined focus areas and systematic capability development. In the dynamic mobility environment, strategy, organisation, and technology must be closely interlinked.”
