VinFast to supply 20,000 electric cars to transport companies in Indonesia
The Indonesian transport solution providers plan to acquire 10,000 EVs each from VinFast. PT Sembilan Benua Abadi aims to complete its purchases by the end of 2027, while PT Satu Kosong Tujuh has set the end of 2028 as its deadline.
VinFast said the combined fleet order of 20,000 electric cars will consist of the Nerio Green sub-compact SUV and the Limo Green mid-size MPV, but did not disclose the split between the two models. It launched the Limo Green in Indonesia just last month at the annual Indonesia International Motor Show.
“We are impressed with Nerio Green and Limo Green not only for the product quality but also for the sustainable development orientation that these two models represent,” said PT. VinFast offers it in a front-wheel-drive (FWD) variant with a single motor producing 110 kW and 250 Nm of torque and a 41.9 kWh LFP battery pack. The Limo Green measures 4,740 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width and 1,729 mm in height, and has a 2,840 mm wheelbase. It accommodates seven people in a 2+3+2 seating layout. The Limo Green can travel up to 450 kilometres on a single charge, also according to the NEDC cycle.
VinFast has not revealed the price of the Nerio Green in Indonesia, but it offers the Limo Green at 389 million rupiah (approximately 19,800 euros). It also offers a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option for the Limo Green, under which it takes a 319 million rupiah (approximately 16,300 euros) upfront payment for the vehicle and charges a monthly battery subscription fee of 880,000 rupiah (approximately 45 euros) for a usage limit of up to 2,000 kilometres or 1.35 million rupiah (approximately 69 euros) for usage above 2,000 kilometres.
