V-Green to build 99 fast-charging stations in Vietnam
V-Green will set up fast-charging stations along national and provincial highways at strategically spaced intervals across 34 provinces and cities, aiming to make long-distance and interprovincial journeys more convenient. Each charging station will have up to 100 charging points capable of delivering up to 150 kW, allowing vehicles to gain sufficient charge to continue their journey in around 15 minutes.
The company plans to operate all the new fast-charging stations using renewable energy from wind and solar power, stored in battery energy storage systems (BESS) developed and manufactured by VinFast. It plans to invest 10 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately €330 million) in this project.
“The super charging station system, strategically located on national and provincial highways, is not only convenient but also offers super-fast and high-capacity charging simultaneously, fundamentally addressing all vehicle charging needs of users,” said V-Green Chairwoman and CEO Pham Thanh Thuy. “With 99 super charging stations, VinFast electric vehicle users can have complete peace of mind on any long journey, even during peak periods,” she added.
In 2025, VinFast sold 175,099 EVs in Vietnam, more than doubling from 87,000 units in 2024. In response to rising demand, V-Green said it will accelerate the development of the project. The company operates in more than five countries, offering around 150,000 charging points, and the new initiative is set to add up to 9,900 more.
In a related development, VinFast recently announced an extension of its free charging programme for customers in India, Indonesia and Philippines. The company will continue offering complimentary charging at V-Green charging stations until March 2029.
