bp pulse introduces Avios rewards for EV charging
The programme covers bp pulse’s network of more than 3,000 rapid and ultra-fast charge points. The companies say the partnership is designed to integrate EV charging into existing loyalty programmes as electric vehicle adoption continues to increase. Avios is the global loyalty currency of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, Qatar Airways, Finnair and Loganair. Earned points can be turned into rewards ‘across a broad ecosystem of travel, retail and financial services partners.’
Members of The British Airways Club can earn up to four Avios per pound spent on eligible charging sessions. Customers paying by contactless with a pre-registered payment card will receive two Avios per pound spent. Drivers using the bp pulse app or a bp pulse subscription can earn four Avios per pound, provided their payment card is registered with both Avios and the bp pulse app.
“As EV adoption continues to grow, this partnership adds further value to the charging experience – giving customers a simple way to collect Avios as part of their everyday journeys,” said Valerio Ferro, General Manager of bp pulse UK. “bp pulse has become the first EV charging network to offer Avios and we’re delighted to be able to reward drivers as they transition to EVs.”
Rob McDonald, Chief Commercial Officer at IAG Loyalty, added: “By linking EV charging with Avios, we’re giving members another way to turn everyday activity into meaningful rewards.”
