The EPP Group in the European Parliament wants to reverse the ban on combustion engines for new cars from 2035. This emerges from a position paper by the conservative group. In doing so, the EPP is confronting Ursula von der Leyen, who emphasised in her recent inaugural speech as President of the European Commission that the ban on combustion engines should be maintained in its current form.
