Grants for public charging points in Québec

The Electric Circuit charging network will be rolling out 4,500 standard charging stations by 2028 in partnership with Québec’s municipalities. To support this initiative, a grant program is being offered exclusively to municipalities.

UK invests £300 million in charging points

UK energy regulator Ofgem approved a £300 million investment (around 348 million euros) for over 200 low carbon projects to get Britain ready for more electric transport. This will see the instalment of 3550 EV chargers across the UK as part of a £40 billion investment in greener energy.

EVBox installs charging systems with Kingspan

EVBox Group will supply Kingspan with just over 60 AC and DC charging stations to help the building materials manufacturer convert its corporate fleet to electric vehicles. The installation project will begin in the UK and Ireland before expanding to other regions.

Audi developing high power charging parks

Audi is working on its own fast-charging concept for its electric cars. A pilot will be created in the second half of the year to test a possible series application. The core of the concept is “premium” HPC charging in combination with a lounge offer. The power supply is to run via buffer storage.

FC Bayern installs extra EV charge points at Allianz Arena

Together with its partner Audi, FC Bayern has set up 21 charging points for electric vehicles at the Allianz Arena, its home pitch in Munich. Starting this summer, the club will gradually expand the charging infrastructure further, not the least for its own players driving e-tron vehicles.

The Electric Highway, tge UK’s longest-standing fast-charging initiative, has opened its largest high power charging site at a Moto pitstop, Rugby Services, at Junction 1 of the M6. The new facility includes 12 ultra-rapid chargers from Tritium, able to charge supported vehicles at 350kW.

EVBox & ON Power expand Iceland charging network

Rivian to launch their own charging network in the USA

Rivian has presented plans for its own charging networks, in which the North American electric car startup is strongly inspired by Tesla’s Superchargers and Destination Chargers. Rivian is focusing on North America with the new network, and there is no mention of a similar project for Europe.

ChargeUp demands EU charging infrastructure regulation

In an open letter to the EU Commission, ChargeUp Europe, an association of European charging infrastructure providers, has called for a new stand-alone regulation for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The association says this should be separate from the existing directive for alternative fuels (DAFI).
