Tata Motors is apparently searching for a location for its European battery cell factory in Spain or Great Britain. In Spain, the Indian manufacturer is considering an industrial site in Zuera near the city of Zaragoza.

Freudenberg signs battery module supply deal with LG ES

Forsee Power signs supply deal with CALB
French battery manufacturer Forsee Power has signed a cooperation agreement with Chinese cell producer CALB. Under the agreement, Forsee Power will integrate CALB’s NMC cells with “very high energy density” into its battery systems for electric commercial vehicles.

RecyLIB to enable direct reuse of battery elements
In Germany, a project coordinated by Fraunhofer ISC called RecyLIB aims to develop a battery manufacturing process designed to allow the use of recycled material. This allows the active functional material to be recovered after the battery’s end-of-life for direct reuse in the remanufacturing of electrodes.

BAK Battery announces plans for a new cell factory in China
The Chinese battery manufacturer BAK Battery is planning to build a factory for cylindrical cells with an annual capacity of 30 gigawatt-hours. According to the announcement, 13 billion yuan (about 1.8 billion euros) will be invested in the production facility and a research and development centre.

US government funds twelve battery research projects
