Intis and Slovenian Post want to charge e-Crafter inductively

Slovenian state-owned postal company Pošta Slovenije wants to demonstrate inductive charging of an electric transporter in a real-life environment together with German specialist Intis. As part of the Edison Winci project, Intis will retrofit a Pošta Slovenije VW e-Crafter for wireless charging.

Gotion High-Tech to supply batteries for Geely

The Chinese battery cell manufacturer and Volkswagen partner Gotion High-Tech has signed a supply agreement with Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle. Under the agreement, Gotion will supply battery cells for around 126,000 Geely light commercial vehicles such as minivans and light trucks between 2022 and 2024.

Italy to invest €650 million per year to lower emissions

The Italian government is allocating 650 million euros annually for 2022, 2023 and 2024 for incentives to purchase electrified and low-emission vehicles. Private individuals can receive a subsidy of 3,000 euros for the purchase of new electric cars. Small and medium-sized enterprises will also be supported.

GM prepares for electric van production in Canada

General Motors will start producing electric vans at its plant in Ingersoll, Canada, later this year. Construction of the BrightDrop electric van is scheduled to begin there at the end of December. Light pickup production and a third shift will be introduced at the Oshawa assembly plant.

DHL UK to put 270 Ford E-Transit vans into operation

DHL Express will introduce 270 new e-transit vans to its UK fleet this summer. The 270 new Ford E-Transits are due to enter service between May and September, serving over 30 different locations including London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Southampton, Liverpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

SEA Electric has presented the new SV6 electric step van for the North American market. The electric transporter is powered by the SEA-Drive 120b power system and covers applications with a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 26,000lbs (Class 6), with its 250kW and 1,845 lb-ft performance ratings.

DPD orders another 150 eSprinter

Following the deployment of the first vehicles since 2020 as part of a pilot project, the German logistics service provider DPD has now added a further 150 eSprinter electric vans from Mercedes-Benz Vans to its German fleet. The vehicles will be used at the depot locations in Hamburg, Essen and Nuremberg.

Odin launches StreetScooter production under new management

Three weeks after the takeover of StreetScooter Engineering GmbH, Odin Automotive has now announced the official start of production of the first StreetScooter vehicles under the new management.
