France: Chronopost orders 420 Volkswagen e-Crafter

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) will deliver a total of 420 e-Crafter electric vans to the French logistics company Chronopost over the next two years. After extensive testing, the subsidiary of the French Post Group has decided in favour of the e-Crafter.

DPD grow British EV fleet with 300 Nissan e-vans

DPD has ordered 300 electric vans for use in the UK. Nissan is to deliver its e-NV200 by May 2020. DPD is thus expanding its electric fleet in the UK to 450 vehicles and aims to reach the 500 e-vehicle mark by the end of 2020.

Bevan Group to offer Nissan electric vans in the UK

The Bevan Group has signed a “landmark partnership agreement” with conversion specialist Voltia, under which it has been awarded a license to assemble and market Nissan’s eNV-200 electric van in the converted form in Great Britain and Ireland.

London doubles scrapping premium

In order to accelerate the switch to electric vehicles, London is doubling the scrapping premium for old vans with combustion engines to £7,000 (around 8,288 euros). Those who switch to an electric transporter even receive 9,500 pounds (approximately 11,248 euros) from the city.

Gnewt marks 10 million zero-emission deliveries

The London-based electric delivery fleet Gnewt has delivered it’s 10 millionth parcel emissions-free. The company estimates to have saved a total of 2.3 million kg of CO2 compared to standard diesel delivery. Gnewt currently operates a 120-strong EV fleet.

Milk & More recently partnered up with Elmtronics, and independent supplier and installer of EV charging equipment. The largest grocery and milk doorstep delivery service in the UK has also rolled out 159 new electric vehicles between June and October this year.

StreetScooter plans to enter US market in 2020

Deutsche Post/DHL will launch the StreetScooter Work L electric delivery van in two US cities from spring 2020. It is still unclear exactly which these are. According to CTO Ulrich Stuhec, StreetScooter’s EVs could be established on a large scale in the USA in 2022 or 2023.

Britain’s own Morris Commercial presents a new electric edition of the Morris J-Type small van produced in the 1950s. The legendary e-van, now named Morris JE, will offer a range of around 200 miles (320 km) and cost about 60,000 pounds once it goes on sale at the end of 2021.

VOI Technology is apparently operating its electric kick scooter rental service completely emission-free in a trial city through the use of electric transporters and cargo pedelecs. Tier Mobility and Circ are also using new electric kick scooters with replaceable batteries.
