Toyota presents hybrid racecar for WEC

Toyota Gazoo Racing has unveiled the race car it will enter in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) this year. In line with the new hypercar regulations, the GR010 Hybrid features an all-wheel drive powertrain with system power capped at 500 kW.

Nissan details Qashqai e-Power technology

Nissan provides some technical data on the Qashqai e-Power, two months after first announcing the hybrid vehicle to come to Europe. The e-power system combines a 140 kW electric motor and 1.5-litre gasoline engine that drives the power generator for charging the battery.

PSA sold 120,000 electrified models throughout 2020

The PSA Group recorded around 120,000 new registrations for electrified models in 2020, one reason it met the European CO2 targets. At the same time, the French company’s total sales slumped 27.8% to 2.51 million cars in the crisis year compared to 2019.

Renault doubles EV sales in Europe

Renault has presented its electric car sales statistics for 2020. According to the figures, the French automaker was able to sell 115,888 electric vehicles in Europe, around twice as many as in 2019. The company’s most successful electric model by far was, once again, the Renault Zoe.

Denmark ups taxes for ICEs and incentives for EVs

The Danish parliament has passed a tax plan that should help bring at least 775,000 electric and hybrid cars onto the road by 2030. The plan envisions a gradual increase in taxes and charges for cars with a combustion engine and lower taxes for electric cars and charging.

The automotive supplier Mahle has opened a new test bench for electric drives in Fellbach near Stuttgart, Germany.
