Norway’s electric cars figures continue to grow

Exactly 4,713 electric cars were newly registered in Norway in August. This is an increase of 13.4 per cent in comparison to the same month last year. Besides, there were 2,761 new cars with hybrid drive. These included 1,206 plug-in hybrids.

Ford is banking on hybrids at the IAA

Ford presented what it could do in electrified vehicles to date at the IAA. A pure electric car is still missing, as only hybrids and plug-in hybrids are on show in Frankfurt. The sales targets are also notably high.

Bucharest ordered 130 hybrid buses

The Romanian capital Bucharest has ordered 130 hybrid buses from Mercedes-Benz. Deliveries of the Citaro Hybrid are scheduled to take place between May 2020 and January 2021. Bucharest also plans to procure 100 battery-electric buses, 100 trolleybuses and 100 trams.

Alexander Dennis presents hybrid double-decker bus

The Scottish bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis, which was recently taken over by North America’s largest bus manufacturer NFI Group, is expanding its range to include a double-decker with hybrid drive. The basis is the Enviro400EV, which is also on the road in London as a fully electric bus.

Norway: EV sales continue to look up Jan-June 2019
