China aims to rid roads of pure ICEs by 2035

The Chinese government has released the ‘Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicle Technology Roadmap 2.0’ or ‘Technical Roadmap 2.0’ for short. The plan outlines the concrete goals of transforming Chinese automotive industries into a wholly electric industry by 2035 when pure combustion engines will no longer be permitted.

Mercedes increases Aston Martin shares

Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will significantly increase its stake in the struggling British manufacturer Aston Martin Lagonda from what is currently 2.6 per cent to a maximum of 20 per cent. In return, the British company is to receive hybrid and electric drive trains from Mercedes.

Germany marks record electric car sales

According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), 21,188 electric cars were newly registered in Germany in September, which marks a new record. This was 5,112 more than in August (16,076). Electric cars and plug-in hybrids together reached a market share of around 15% for the first time.

Danfoss to fit hybrid drives on exploration vessels

Danfoss Editron has received an order from the Norwegian shipyard Grovfjord Mekaniske Verksted (GMV) to supply hybrid propulsion systems for a fleet of unmanned exploration vessels. Four of the vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2021, with seven more to follow in the following months.

Germany marks almost 17,000 new BEVs in July

According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), exactly 16,798 electric cars were newly registered in Germany in July – a new record. This was 8,679 more than in June (8,119). Compared to the same month last year, this segment recorded an increase of 181.7 per cent!
