Tesla’s lawsuit: According to The Wall Street Journal, Tesla is preparing a federal lawsuit to prevent states from banning direct-sales. Six U.S. states (18 percent of the vehicles market) won’t currently allow Tesla stores, which could hurt sales of the new Model 3. The EV maker’s legal team has been studying a case in which monk were allowed to directly sell coffins to customers to establish precedence.

“Low-No” programme: The U.S. Federal Transit Administration has approved 55m dollars in funding for state and government agencies to purchase low or no emissions vehicles, as well as related equipment and facilities. The funding comes as part of their Low or No Emission Programme, designed to transition the nation’s transit to energy efficient vehicles.

Proterra tested: King County Metro Transit in Washington state, USA, has completed accelerated durability and reliability testing for the Proterra Catalyst e-bus. The highly rigorous test consisted of simulating continuous use with a 97 passenger sized load for one year. The Proterra averaged 325 miles per day, driving 572 miles/day max. The electric bus was charged over 1,750 times during the testing period.

Spinx in Carolina: Select Spinx locations in South Carolina will be getting Level 3 (DC) electric chargers. While Levels 1 and 2 chargers are already available, the Level 3 allows customers to load up faster. Chargers will be ready to use by May 3rd, and will cost a flat rate of 5.95 dollars plus 20 cents per minute.

Daventry local council: One new Nissan Leaf has joined the Daventry District Council in the UK. The EV was purchased with the help of a grant from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, and will be used by staff for business travel.
