ABB to provide 200 EV fast chargers to Philippines

ABB has received an order for 200 DC fast charging stations type Terra 53 from the Filipino company QEV. The delivery will take place over the next three years as a part of the infrastructure development for electric mobility in the Philippines.

VW collaborates with Smatrics: Austrian owners of an e-Up or e-Golf now benefit from a cooperation between VW and the Austrian infrastructure operator. With one charge card they have access to 400 charging points of Smatrics nationwide. In the first year it will be free and first 350 kW charger shall follow before the year’s end. VW clients in Germany, Belgium, Slovenia, Slovakia and the Netherlands enjoy similar advantages, where they can charge at fixed roaming tariffs.

Fast-chargers break even: Dutch EV charging company Fastned claims to have broken even with two of its fast-chargers for the first time. This means the fees covered all operating expenses, such as energy, fees for land, lease and license. Fastned estimates more stations will pass break even soon.

Korea’s EV Line: Seoul has come up with an infrastructure solution that is strikingly simple. The city plans to hand out charge cables fitted with RFID readers. Designed by Power Cube, the portable charging connectors could enable EV drivers to charge their cars at about 100,000 standard power outlets across the city by 2018, while the city will provide 10,000 designated charge spots already this year.

V2G project: The Air Force unveiled the Department of Defense’s first non-tactical vehicle fleet composed entirely of plug-in electric vehicles in Los Angeles. The PEV fleet includes both electric and hybrid vehicles ranging from sedans to trucks and a 12-passenger van. The vehicles include vehicle-to-grid technology, allowing them to feed energy back into the grid when not being used.
