Volvo has imported a Tesla Model Y from the USA and registered it in Sweden to take a closer look. Volvo had already brought one of the then new Tesla Model 3 to Sweden in 2018 – and now, as is well known, offers a competitor for the Model 3 under its EV brand Polestar.

Tesla production & delivery report Q2/2020

Tesla delivered a total of 90,650 vehicles in the second quarter of 2020, 2,250 more than in the first quarter of the year. From April to June a total of 82,272 Tesla vehicles were produced, which significantly fewer than in the 1st quarter due to Corona restrictions.

Tesla shares broke through the USD 1,000 mark for the first time on Wednesday. At over 180 billion dollars, this exceeded Toyota’s market capitalisation for the first time. This means that Tesla is currently trading on the stock exchange as the most valuable car manufacturer in the world.

First Model Y to be delivered on Friday

The first Tesla Model Y will be delivered on this coming Friday 13 March. Only deliveries to customers on the US West Coast have been announced so far. The company has obviously sped things up, since until now, 15 March was said to be the earliest possible date for delivery.
