Norway sold 4,236 new electric cars in January

4,236 electric cars were newly registered in Norway in the first month of the new year. The market share of BEV in passenger car registrations was thus 44.3%. By far the most popular model across all drive systems was the Audi e-tron.

Five electric ferries to hit Oslo waters

On the Oslofjord, at the northern end of which lies the Norwegian capital Oslo, five electric ferries will be put into operation by 2022 – the first of these as early as 2021. The transport authority Ruter has awarded the contract to operate the electric ferries to the Norwegian provider Boreal Sjø.

Reservation books open for Lucid Air in Europe

The US-American startup Lucid Motors has now opened European reservation books for the first model Lucid Air. The startup says it will officially unveil the Tesla-like debut car in New York in April. Deliveries in Europe are scheduled to begin at the end of 2021.

Diesel car starts blaze in Norwegian carpark

BEVs get falsely accused of fire-starting… again: Hundreds of cars were destroyed in a fire in the carpark building at Stavanger Airport in Norway. Initially, rumours spread that an electric car might have been the cause of the fire, but according to police, the fire was in fact caused by a 2005 model diesel car.

Seat has published the price for the Mii electric for Germany. The small electric car of the Spanish Volkswagen subsidiary will be available at a basic list price of 20,650 euros and is, therefore, cheaper than the sister models of the Škoda and VW brands.
