6,660 electric cars sold in Norway in January

The Norwegian car market started the new year with 6,660 newly registered electric cars. Electric vehicles accounted for 83.7 per cent of new car registrations in Norway in January. In the model ranking, an MEB SUV was in the lead – but not a Volkswagen.

Li-Cycle announces two new recycling plants

The Canadian battery recycling company Li-Cycle has announced its first factory outside North America, in Norway. What is more, the company is building another recycling factory in North America in cooperation with GM’s Ultium Cells. The plant will be Li-Cycle largest facility to date.

Nio ET5 to arrive in Europe in spring 2023

In Norway, 13,803 new electric cars were registered in December. The share of electric cars among all new registrations was 67.1 per cent. In addition, there were 4,706 new plug-in hybrids. Norway’s most successful model in December was the Tesla Model Y with 2,379 registrations.

In Norway, 11,274 new electric cars were registered in November. Electric cars thus reached a share of 73.8 per cent of all passenger car registrations in the month. In addition, there were 2,653 new plug-in hybrids. The most popular model was the Tesla Model Y with 1,013 registrations.

Freyr signs with Glencore for 1,500 tonnes of cathode material

After an agreement in principle between Freyr and the raw materials trader Glencore at the beginning of the year, a first concrete contract now follows: It fixes the delivery of up to 1,500 tonnes of cathode material with partially recycled cobalt from Glencore’s Nikkelverk plant in Norway.
