Toyota presents roadmap for Europe and the bZ4X

Toyota has given an outlook on its strategy in Europe. By 2030, Toyota wants to increase the share of purely electric vehicles to at least 50 per cent, and from 2035, only zero-emission cars will be allowed on sale. In addition, the first purely battery-electric Toyota model bZ4X is now celebrating its European premiere.

Norway marks 11,274 new BEVs sold over November

In Norway, 11,274 new electric cars were registered in November. Electric cars thus reached a share of 73.8 per cent of all passenger car registrations in the month. In addition, there were 2,653 new plug-in hybrids. The most popular model was the Tesla Model Y with 1,013 registrations.

Analysis shows battery price drop to $132 per kW/h

Analysts from BloombergNEF saw prices for lithium-ion battery packs fall by a further six per cent in 2021 YoY, to an average of 132 US dollars per kilo Watthour. In the electric vehicle segment, prices were even below the market average.

New Astra to release as an estate & includes PHEV variant

Opel/Vauxhall has now also shown the estate version of the hybrid Astra after launching the five-door version of the new Astra first. The Astra Sports Tourer will also be available as a plug-in hybrid right from the start, with a battery-electric version reportedly coming in 2023.

The EU, the USA, China and other countries want to oblige carmakers to commit to a minimum durability of the batteries installed in their electric and hybrid cars. This was agreed in principle by the countries at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) World Forum for Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations in Geneva.

New Range Rover to drop with two PHEV variants

Land Rover has presented the fifth generation of the Range Rover.
