Australia’s Adelaide Airport wants to become the first airport in Australia with a fully electric bus fleet. Plans are to begin next year, with SkyBus selected as the new operator of its shuttle buses for five years.

London suspends road tolls during pandemic

London is suspending all road tolls from today to ensure that all employees in “critical professions” can move freely in the face of the coronavirus pandemic and amidst resulting tube suspensions. The city will not enforce the congestion charge and ULEZ until further notice.

Siemens to deliver 20 battery-electric trains

The Baden-Württemberg State Railway Authority (SFBW) has ordered 20 Mireo Plus B battery-electric trains from Siemens Mobility. The trains, which will be used around Ortenau, are scheduled for delivery by December 2023.

Transit operator RVK turns to fuel cell buses

In Germany, Cologne-region public transport operator Regionalverkehr Köln (RVK) has increased its fuel cell bus fleet with hydrogen buses from Solaris. From 2021, 15 Solaris hydrogen fuel cell buses will be successively integrated into RVK’s fleet.

The first Solaris electric bus has arrived in Berlin from an order placed in summer last year when Berlin’s public transport authority, the BVG, ordered 90 Urbino 12 electric buses. Another order of 90 vehicles is still pending.
