ZEBRA: UK Gov’ funds nearly 1,000 zero-emission buses
The British Government, through its Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme, has granted £198Mn to twelve towns and cities. The money will fund 943 battery-electric and hydrogen buses plus associated infrastructure and is the largest funding route to date.

RATP Dev London granted HSBC loan for electric buses
In the UK, the public transport operator RATP Dev London wants to purchase another 75 electric buses, including 54 double-deckers and 21 single-deckers. This is made possible by a loan of 30 million pounds taken out with the bank HSBC.

No new combustion vehicles in Washington State by 2030
The US state of Washington has passed a bill banning the sale, purchase and registration of new petrol-powered vehicles of model year 2030 or later. If it becomes law, Washington will phase out internal combustion vehicles five years earlier than other states such as California.

US government invests in electric bus fleets
The U.S. government is awarding nearly $1.5 billion in grants in 2022 to modernize bus fleets and facilities across the country. Of the money allocated, $1.1 billion will go to the Low or No Emission (Low-No) program this year alone.

Scotland closes first round of electric bus funding scheme
The Scottish Government has awarded over £62 million in the first phase of its Zero Emission Bus Challenge Fund (ScotZEB) to replace 276 old diesel buses with new electric buses and the necessary charging infrastructure. 137 of these electric buses will be built by ADL in Falkirk.

Polish municipal association orders 32 Solaris buses
The Polish municipal association Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia (GZM) has ordered 32 electric buses and the associated charging infrastructure from Solaris. The 12- and 18-meter-long Urbino electric are to be used by operators from Gliwice, Katowice, Sosnowiec, Świerklaniec from 2023.

Prague orders 20 e-buses from Solaris & Skoda Electric
The Prague transport operator DPP has ordered 20 double-articulated trolleybuses from the consortium of Solaris Bus & Coach, Solaris Czech and Škoda Electric. The Solaris Trollino 24s are to be delivered within the next two years and will be used in the Czech capital.

BYD-ADL to supply 130 electric buses for Coventry

New Jersey to be graced with 8 New Flyer e-buses with options for more
In the USA, New Flyer bus manufacturer has received an order from the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ Transit) for eight all-electric Xcelsior Charge NG forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses. Ebusco scores another electric bus order in Germany
Dutch electric bus manufacturer Ebusco has received a new order from Germany. Public transport operator Südwestdeutsche Landesverkehrs-GmbH (SWEG) has ordered ten electric solo buses and ten charging units from the Dutch manufacturer. Munich orders 14 electric 18-metre Ebusco buses
