UK Gov’ makes charge points compulsory for buildings by 2022
New homes and buildings such as supermarkets and workplaces in the UK, and those undergoing a major renovation, will have to install electric vehicle charge points from next year. Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduced the new legislation today, making earlier plans official.

Seven British companies pledge to electrify fleets by 2030
Seven UK companies have joined forces to form the Electric Vehicle Fleet Accelerator (EVFA) and have pledged to convert their fleets to electric vehicles by 2030. In return, they are demanding a range of measures from the government to help with the transition.

Scotland’s utility ScottishPower wants to install rapid charging stations for electric cars “at strategically important locations throughout the UK”. The announcement is part of ScottishPower’s investment plan for its very own energy turnaround.
