Stefan Krause steps down as CEO of Canoo

After Karl-Thomas Neumann, Stefan Krause is also retiring from the board of Californian EV startup Canoo (formerly Evelozcity). Citing private “family matters” Krause will no longer be CEO but will continue taking care of financing in a limited capacity.

Ford talks partnership details with Rivian

After its $500M investment in the electric car startup Rivian, Ford will not only use its platform for a future electric vehicle but will also probably have it assembled by Rivian. In an interview, Ford’s CEO, Jim Hackett, indicated that Rivian’s Illinois plant would suit Ford’s assembly requirements.

Siemens to set up hydrogen centre in Görlitz

Pre-orders open for ultra-light BEV: Nobe 100

The Nobe 100 can now be pre-ordered. The three-wheeled light-weight electric car with a retro design was first presented by Nobe Cars about a year ago. The Estonian startup is collecting production funds through a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo – where the first ten models are also available at a special price.

ViaVan plans to use only BEVs as of 2025

ViaVan, the joint venture of Mercedes-Benz Vans and the US startup Via, plans to convert all its locations to purely electric fleets by 2025. In Berlin, only fully electric vans are to be used from the end of 2020.

Australia: XCharge to set up 1,000 fast chargers

The Chinese fast-charging startup XCharge wants to set up a network with at least 1,000 DC chargers for electric cars in Australia and is cooperating with Southern Sustainable Electric Australia (SSE Australia) as its sales partner. The network will also include liquid-cooled 350 kW HPC charging stations. XCharge has not yet specified a timetable.

Alaka’i presents fuel cell air taxi

The US startup Alaka’i Technologies has presented the concept of a fuel cell air taxi called Skai, which was developed together with the BMW brand Designworks. It offers space for five passengers, is powered by six electric motors and is expected to have a range of around 400 miles (640 km).
