MAN to begin articulated e-bus production in Poland

MAN has announced that the series production of the Lion’s City 18 E articulated bus will start in Poland in April. Some vehicles that are still assembled in pre-series will be in service earlier: one such Lion’s City 18 E will go into regular service in Cologne from April.

Northvolt to enter US through Cuberg acquisition

Sweden’s battery cell manufacturer and Volkswagen partner Northvolt acquired the US startup Cuberg to commercialise longer-range Lithium-metal batteries. Existing clients include Boeing and electric aviation startups, while Northvolt also plans an R&D centre in California.

Stena Line plans two e-ferries on the Baltic Sea

Scania and Fraunhofer electrify semi-trailers

Volkswagen subsidiary Scania made a solar cell clad trailer to power a plug-in hybrid truck and is preparing testing in Sweden. In Germany, Fraunhofer LBF was looking at semi-trucks as well and developed a lightweight high-voltage battery system for heavy-duty EVs.
