BYD plans fourth new energy vehicle factory in China
BYD is massively expanding their electric car production capacity in China. The manufacturer has now struck an agreement with the Changzhou city government to build a fourth car factory, which will have a capacity of 400,000 electric cars per year. Existing sites will ramp up as well.
China: Xi’an launches 200 BYD electric double-decker fleet
The world’s largest fully electric double-decker bus fleet is currently being launched in the Chinese city of Xi’an. The fleet consists of 200 BYD K8S double-decker buses that will serve six city bus routes. More than 3,000 of the manufacturer’s electric buses are now in service in Xi’an.
BYD pushing to increase battery production capacity
BYD has announced their plan to construct a battery factory with an annual capacity of 30 GWh in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province. Its size will place it among the country’s “super factories” and is part of a wider push by BYD to increase production.
