The SMMT counted 191 newly registered pure electric cars to hit UK roads in December 2013. With a total of 2,235 hybrid cars, 295 of them were eligible for the government’s plug-in grant. In Germany, 445 new electric and 2,062 hybrid cars were registered in December.
