EV incentives in Massachusetts: Governor Deval Patrick announced plans to start offering rebates for electric car and plug-in hybrid purchases similar to those in California. Buyers could thus get 2,500 dollars at the point of sale. At the same time, Massachusetts will continue to provide funding for institutions and businesses in its existing EV programme.
Highway Code update: RightDriver.co.uk has found that almost 65% out of 1,056 driving instructors would like to see hybrid vehicles included into the standard UK driver’s guide. More than a third believe that specifically all-electric vehicles belong into the Highway Code while 68% wish to see more information on alternatively-fuelled vehicles in general.
Charging for charging: Just ahead of the launch of new tariffs for charging at Polar Network stations in the UK today, the company seemed to have lowered its prices. However, customers are still indignant with some considering boycotting the network altogether.
Leafs for bus company: The Hamburger Hochbahn company has acquired eleven electric Nissans. The Leafs will be driven by mechanics and supervisors in the German city of Hamburg. There, they will certainly catch some attention as they bare the slogan “Wenn ich groß bin, werde ich ein Hochbahn-Bus” (“When I grow up, I will be a Hochbahn bus”). The company already has 36 alternatively-fuelled buses in its fleet.
