GM-Voltec2Tech details on the new Volt drivetrain: According to GM, the new drive unit will be 45 kilos lighter and up to 12 percent more efficient than the one used for the current model. The battery pack contains 192 cells instead of 288, making the unit 13.6 kilos lighter, but offering more capacity than its predecessor.

Bug with plug: Zelectric Motors from San Diego presented another electrified version of the VW classic, called the ’66 ZelectricBug. As the name suggests, this model was originally build in 1966. The electrified version has a top speed of 100 miles, a range of 80 miles, and a price tag of 45,000 dollars.
