OSU-Model-SNew solar racer: The OSU-Model-S, from Osaka Sangyo University (OSU) sports Interdigitated Back Contact (IBC) silicon solar cells on its roof, allegedly making it the most efficient solar-powered car out there, reaching 24.4 percent. The car will compete in the upcoming 2015 IFA Suzuka Solar Car Race.

Ramping up production: Skeleton Technologies, a European manufacturer of high-performance supercapacitors, has raised 10.7 million dollars from a consortium and plans to use the money to increase production of their graphene-based supercapacitors.
