rupert-stadler“Even more than before, we now have to play to win.”

Audi CEO Rupert Stadler says the brand will go ahead as planned with the launch of new models like the all-electric SUV despite, or rather because of the emission scandal at Volkswagen. He alienates the mothership even further as Audi is bringing in audit firm Deloitte to take an impartial look at dieselgate.

Margo-Oge“These people had religion. And that religion was diesel. They simply did not believe in electric powertrains and thought they were a waste of time.”

Margo Oge, a former director of the EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality, took part in talks with VW before president Obama’s Clean Air Act. VW executives, here depicted as diesel fanatics, were lobbying for treating their forged clean diesels like EVs back in 2011.

Claus-Hjort-Frederiksen“The former government may have promised to keep electric cars exempt from car taxes, but they just forgot one thing: finding the money to do so.”

Danish Finance Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen on discontinuing tax rebates for electric cars. While he quotes financial reasons, Denmark’s new government plans to scrap a tax on NOx emissions too (we reported). How does this add up?!
