Research facility by Bosch: A new research campus will open tomorrow in Renningen near Stuttgart. There, Bosch is to research and develop better EV batteries. The declared target is a weight of just 190 kilograms with a capacity of 50 kWh and recharge time of 15 minutes for 75% SOC.

EV for emergencies: Honda is readying its Power Exporter for the CEATEC technology show in Japan. The device can connect to any EV or FCV that has a CHAdeMO charging port. The Power Exporter provides up to 9 kilowatts of power for seven days when plugged to Honda’s upcoming FCV. It could thus serve as a backup power source in case of natural disasters.

H2 baggage tractor: Bosch Engineering produces the Fuel Cell Control Unit (FCCU) to power an electric baggage tractor that carries a fuel cell as range extender. Tests at Stuttgart Airport are about to begin. Bosch plans to further establish its fuel cell technology in off-highway vehicles.
