Flash charging for electric buses: Geneva’s public transport operator TPG and Swiss bus manufacturer HESS placed a 16m dollar order for ABB’s fast-charging and on-board EV technology. Thirteen so-called flash-charging stations will be utilised for twelve electric trolley buses serving to connect the airport with suburban Geneva. Charging takes only 15 seconds at 600 kW.

Trolleybus charging: The overhead wire infrastructure in the Dutch city of Arnhem will become a lifeline for battery-electric buses in a cross-border project coordinated by Vossloh Kiepe. E-bus 2020 IMC sees ten partners come together to develop and test two 18 metre electric buses with In-Motion-Charging (IMC) technology. If not on the wire, the buses will switch to battery power.

Croatia powered by the sun: Croatia has its first solar-charging station for EVs installed by utility HEP in the capital Zagreb. The Elen Leaf station has solar panels for a roof and charges up to two electric vehicles at a time with a power of 50 kW and 43 kW.
